really old news

12/11/03 Christmas EP
You can tell by the entries in our guestbook how much fun we had on our Christmas EP release aprty at the HQ last Saturday. So "We want our Coffee black and our Christmas white!" is available from now on, orders welcome. But which makes us proud and sorry at the same time (sorry, that people might not get it anymore): the limited special edition is sold out. Don't ask us how we sold 100 records in less than a week... But as I said, the usual edition is still available, of course. - kcr

12/04/03 New button designs
We have three new button designs for your pleasure (and ours too). If you're interested have look at them in the Output section. - kcr

11/26/03 Major photo update
Until Sunday I didn't realize that the last photo update had been from May 29th. I've been a lazy bum! So I put some new photos on the website, that is 93 pictures in 7 galleries. Enjoy yourselves by clicking through our journeys, aka Bizzarro World.
Today the test pressing of our new single arrived. I love it. I can't hardly wait for the single to be out! - kcr

11/18/03 Show with MÖRSER cancelled
The word "cancelled" is being used way too often on this site... Just today I received a mail, that MÖRSER cancelled their appearance at the "Krakfest" this Saturday, November 22nd. One of their bass players had been injured badly while playing soccer. So the promoters decided to postpone the whole event. I can't help being disappointed for the moment, but watch out for the new date! - kcr

10/24/03 Yes, it's been cancelled!
Hopefully it will postponed to another date... - kcr

10/23/03 Brunssum show cancelled! Or not?
Today I received a mail by the promoter saying that maybe Saturday's show is going to be cancelled. Superhero had to cancel their appearance but they would have brought the PA. So Nick, the promoter, doesn't know whether to hire one or to move the party to October 31st. Well, then it's not sure if FTD could play. So please check here again to see when and where the party is going to take place. Dude, life can be tough if you play in a band... - kcr

10/16/03 Show in Brunssum on October 25!
On October 25th we're gonna play at De Burcht Café in Brunssum (NL) together with LOGAN'S RUN and SUPERHERO! It's going to be Mr. J's birthday party so let's make it a real party! Click here for details and the flyer. (This came in too late for the last newsletter but the date is to soon for the next one...) - kcr

10/12/03 FTD 2 World 0
Just came home from the cover photo shooting for the Christmas EP (Big thanks to you, Jule and Elena!) that FTD guitar champ Roland was on the winning team of the Beerathlon. Again! This time with good ol' Jan Birmanns. Congratulations, you give us reason to be a proud band! - kcr

09/03/03 FTD at "Mühlen Madness" this Sunday
Last minute show! Just wanted to announce that we inspite of our initial plans CAN play the "Mühlen Madness" Festival in Aachen on Sunday, September 7th. Check out the flyer! - kcr

08/20/03 Rockstar Records W I N - O - P R I C E
Rockstar Records are giving away stuff for free. All you have to do is enter a little competition. Here's what they say you have to do:

"We got a little present for you. You name us the sexiest person playing in one of our bands and we send you one of our CD´s for free. We´ll give two copies of each of our releases away. So make sure to send us your answer until 15/09/03 and don´t forget to send your adress and the name of the bands you´d like to hear on your stereo. send your vote, 'subject: music for the rich and sexy' to chris@rockstarrecords.de good luck!"

Or check their website for more detailed info: www.rockstarrecords.de - Too bad, can't win our new album yet... - kcr

07/04/03 Finally! New songs online!
Don't waste your time reading this! Get your mouse to the MEDIA section immediately and download three brand new songs from our forthcoming record!
We hope you like it because we do. If you do too, feel free to let us know. We're not using the hosting services of mp3.com anymore, because we thought people might be more encouraged to download our music if they do not have to sign up somewhere. - kcr

06/14/03 FTD fell victim to severe crime!
Well, actually a turkish hacker group somehow managed to break our homepage's security, that's all. When opening fortheday.de it was this page you got to see. Congratulations guys, our respect to you, Ares, Amidx & AstronBnX! And thanks for not deleting everything on the server but only overwriting the index-file. Is it possible to suggest you certain pages to screw up? - kcr

05/11/03 No pool party for FTD
You may have noticed the rather weird anouncement for a show on May 17th. We were supposed to play at a skate pool party if the event couldn't take place on May 10th because of bad weather. That was bloody yesterday and the weather was just great. The promoters did a good job, it was a really cool event and the three of us who were there really enjoyed themselves. I missed Organic, but Superhero and Logan's Run played awesome sets.
Even though we sure would have liked to play an event like this I'm not sure if I ain't glad we didn't. The reason I'm saying this is that among other sponsors like local skate shops & labels, McDonalds was on the flyer. We're not the typical politically correct band but McDonalds definitely is beyond a certain line. I'm not sure if I'm speaking for the whole band but I'm not playing for McDonalds. - kcr

04/21/03 Back from Utrecht
Well, it's been almost a week now since we're back from Bunt's Studio in Utrecht. I've become a total freak for listening to our new recordings on as many different stereos as possible. And the more I get an impression of the sound the more I think Menno Bakker did an excellent job! I even think our songwriting and our playing have improved. We managed to do one more song than we had actually planned, so we have 14 new songs. I can't wait for the album to be released in late summer and I'm sure you will like it a lot more than the old one. - kcr

02/25/03 New shirts & WUF poll results
I can't believe we finally aggreed on a new T-shirt design! But we did and they are going to be out right for the Westside Unity Fetsival on March 8th. Check out the OUTPUT section to get an impression of the design!
The FTD Wunschkonzert polls have closed. Thank you all for participating in our little game. We had 814 votes cast in total. So, below is the official FTD setlist for the Westside Unity Fetsival VI. We're also planning to involve some friends of ours to feature some songs in our set...

  1. Heritage (46 votes)
  2. Friends And Girls And You (47)
  3. Mean (52)
  4. Lifetime Long Long Time Gone (56)
  5. Mine's Left Burning (59)
  6. Waiting For The Day (64)
  7. Girl Upstairs (66)
  8. Last Goodbye (67)

02/09/03 New stickers!
We didn't even expected them to arrive any more but suddenly here they are, our new stickers! High quality full-colour print vinyl stickers, fifteen by four centimeters with Tommy's rad "Bubble Bobble" design! Sticks on your old C64 floppy drive as well as on your old man's car. Check them out in the OUTPUT section! - kcr

01/31/03 Newsletter mistake
Seems like I'm a little bit out of mind at the moment. It is obsolete that we're looking for a show on February 28, as I wrote in the newsletter. The Stuttgart show indeed had been canceled but mighty Reinhard from Paranoia Keeps Crawling managed to book us on a festival in Freiburg. - kcr

01/26/03 Merch Wars VI: Return Of The Buttons
When I visited the Rockstar guys in their headquarter last friday in order to talk about our next record they presented me a cardboard box full of old For The Day buttons. Somehow these had been forgotten or weren't sold or whatever. So some designs of the "Button Offense 2002" are back in stock. - kcr

12/24/2002 FTD Xmas present: New song available!
There is a brand new FTD song available for free on our page at mp3.com called "28th". (You just have to sign up to the site for once, but the usage is totally free.) We accidentally had the chance to record the song for free and thought it would be a nice little gimmick to shorten the long wait for our new album. Thanks to Christian and Sascha for recording it!
Actually it wasn't meant to be released on christmas eve but whatsoever now it's a little christmas present from us to you... Download it, tell us what you think of it and vote for it on the WUF poll! We don't want to play only the old ones, please! - kcr

12/22/2002 Another interview published
Now, if you like, you can also read our interview in FoMP zine. That means, if you can read german... Click here to get directly to the interview but also check out their website! - kcr

12/07/2002 New interview published
Just in came the info that our interview with the W.A.I.N. Crew from Italy has been set online. Click here to get directly to the interview. If we get the permission I'll also put in on our own website in about a month. - kcr

12/05/2002 Links re-organized
No big news here, the only thing is that I re-organized our LINKS section. There is a new topic called "Venues & Promoters" which is nothing more than a collection of websites by places we've played or will play. By no means it is complete right now but I'm sure it will grow. Besides I've added some pictures that Thomas took from our little stay at SAE. Vote! - kcr

11/19/2002 For The Day Wunschkonzert
I'm glad to announce that we're going to play the Westside Unity Festival for the fourth time in a row! There's no miracle to it, I'm just in charge of choosing the bands. Check the festival's website, there's still a headliner missing but I'm very happy so far.
This time we've made up a little special - the FOR THE DAY WUNSCHKONZERT: you can vote online for the songs to be played by us! If you've already shut down the little pop-up window without reading it click here to vote! The eight winning songs will go down in the setlist in inverse order. So the set's going to be a little Hit Parade. (Hopefully!) Ain't what democracy is all about? (poll closes February 22nd) - kcr

11/18/2002 "Punk Im HOT" sampler out now!
The guys from the "Punk Im HOT" crew who put up shows in Herzogenrath have compiled songs by all bands that played the venue so far and put it out as a tape or a CD-R sampler. We're also on it with one song from the album. Check the output section for details.
The new issue of the Bierfront fanzine containing a big For The Day interview has been out for three weeks now. I hope we can get it for the homepage as well in the future... - kcr

10/20/2002 ...and even worse: AZ Aachen shut down!
On friday October 18th the City of Aachen all of a sudden shut down the autonomous centre, the AZ Aachen. Despite of the contract of usage between the City and the AZ, that has been existing for nearly ten years, they're now declaring it as illegal and say due to fire security it has to be closed.
This has to be seen in connection with the arson in the Black & White club, where parents of kids that regularly went there are going to sue the City. On one side the city is afraid of more of those parents and on the other side they were only waiting for an opportunity like this. Fact is, that the AZ team always did everything possible to fulfill fire security laws but the City on their side didn't give the necessary information.
If you want to be informed about the latest news concerning this important venue of alternative and non-commercial culture or want to support our ambitions to open it again visit this website: www.rockstarrecords.de/az/ (unfortunately only in german). - kcr

10/06/2002 Everything must go wrong...
Fuck! I can't believe we have to cancel another show: We will not be able to play the Jena show with Kettcar. This time the reason is that Marc is forced to work on Saturday. We're really, really sorry about that.
I can't tell you guys how much I hate it to cancel shows. This is even the third time in a month! Talk about bad luck... Fuck! Fuuuck! (This is getting worse than the Sugarbombs...) - kcr

10/01/2002 Next compilation ahead
First I'd like to apologize to the promoter, the other bands and the kids that we couldn't play the Margraten show because Marc got sick in the morning before the show. Luckily he's better off again and no more shows will have to be cancelled. Somehow I'm getting sick of cancelling shows...
Furthermore the "puNk iM HoT" crew from Herzogenrath will release a DIY compilation on November 9 with a choice of bands that played their venue so far. The thing will be available both as a tape or a CD-R. Bands on the compilation will be Masons Arms, Socks, Sunset Superior, Sugarbombs, Cheese & Onion, The Depraved, Los Stupidos, Rotessa 4, Galatea, Längst Verfallen, Senseless Creatures, Timmy The Dog, For The Day (album track) and more. - kcr

09/28/2002 Jimbo Jones shirts back in stock
We just reprinted our T-shirts with the one and only tough guy/girl "Skary Skull Sketch" design. They're available in all sizes again. Check out the output page for details. Even though we'd actually decided not to print any more of them we changed our minds because people keep asking. But this will definitely be the last print of them!
As you maybe already have seen we're about to make also new shirts with a cool foosball design. But since it's still going to be changed and we don't even know yet where to let them be printed, this will take another couple of weeks. It's hard to find a shop were you can get them cheap AND good as well...
Talking of cheap and good, we're also waiting for a load of new buttons from Rockstar Records. They're due to be finished in the next couple of days, I guess. Check out the new designs in the output section. Well, actually only one is really new. The others are recycled or reprints...
Besides we got interviewed by Papst Pest for Bierfront fanzine, which is a special pleasure and a great honour to us at the same time. The issue our interview will appear in is going to be the 20 year anniversary issue of this Aachen-based legend. Imagine! 20 years of Punkrock and now we get to be featured in that zine that already had a Hüsker Dü interview, just to name one. I think this is totally cool and it means more to me than playing with some hip Emo band from the US. Luckily we even seem to have had a good day and didn't talk total bullshit to the dictaphone. I'm looking forward to the finished issue!
Furthermore I'd like to recommend a new 10-song tape sampler that we're featured on and which is released by the guys from Mönchengladbach's promising new Hardcore breed Hardflip. Check it out in our output section. It contains a rather wide musical range varying from tough guy metal to sissy emo stuff like ours. - kcr

07/15/2002 Split-album skipped
Bad news so far: being bound to the contract with their label, Nothing In Common cannot join us for the planned split-album. The label will release their second full-length album which we are already looking forward to.
We were pretty excited to release a record again and already tried to figure out a way of putting something out on the scheduled release date for the split. But we decided to wait a little longer in order to put out a whole FTD full-length by the beginning of june 2003, hopefully on Rockstar Records again.
As I write this it seems to me as a pretty long time. But believe me, it's the only way it's possible. And if the entire record is going to be half as good as the new songs we've already been writing it will be definitely worth the wait! - kcr

06/29/2002 Sommerloch
There hasn't been much going on on this website for several weeks. On one hand I was busy with moving again and had no telephone nor internet for allmost two weeks. On the other hand there wasn't much going on at all. We happened to not even practice for three weeks! Awful!
But now I finally put the galleries together, especially the ones from the tour with Nothing In Common. There's also a new gallery called "Friends And Girls And You", named right after our own song. There you can find pictures of people or situations that mean a lot to us but didn't seem to fit in the other galleries, which are reserved for mainly live pics. It isn't complete at all and there will always new photos be added from time to time. However, you should check out the new galleries.
Most important thing is that we are most probably going to release a split-album with Nothing In Common by the end of this year or the beginning of the next. Rockstar Records will be putting out one format (probably vinyl) and we're about to figure something out for the CD format. There will be six new songs by each band on it. We have already finished 4 new ones and are working on three more. We'll try to record 8 songs, so maybe we'll also be releasing a 7". But this plan is even less secure than the split-LP, so please forget what I wrote! - kcr

05/27/2002 Back from tour
As you may have noticed our planned tour diary didn't work out. We have to apologize but it simply wasn't possible to get access to the internet every day. I hope this time we won't be too lazy to write the diary after the tour and put it online. We've made some 900 pictures, so I guess there will be some major updates in the pictures section in the near future.
The tour itself was totally great! Nothing In Common are great guys and I think I can say that both bands have grown to be friends. Also our tour manager Maggi wasn't only doing a good job but also a part of that travelling 10-piece family that we were on tour. I'd like to place a public "Thank you!" here to everybody who helped us out in any way.
We've met a lot of cool people and also some real jerks, just like in the real world. But even the jerks or the places with only little audiences couldn't break our joy of touring and living as full-time bands. 10 days without a home or a day job - what a nice illusion of freedom. Make sure to join it next time we come around. - kcr

05/16/2002 Off for tour!
If you think we are excited about going on tour right tomorrow like children are excited about christmas you are just right! This is probably the last update before we leave with our fellow rockers in Nothing In Common.
But as we are a high-tech hyper-modern cyber-punk band we carry a note book with us. We are going to write a TOUR DIARY and we will upload it on this website as often as possible. So the idea is that you homebirds can share our experiences on tour just by staying in front of your screens (in case you're living too far away from any of the show venues). Ain't that great!?
You can find it in the media section or directly by klicking right here. - kcr

04/26/2002 Herten Show Cancelled
Unfortunately tomorrow's show in Herten with Cleansweep has been cancelled. After Settle The Score also Sincerity had to cancel. Fortunately the show will take place in August, so watch out!
Much more unfortunately our tour date on May 19 has been cancelled, too. So if you can help us out in any way please do not hesitate to do so! Thanks. - kcr

04/17/2002 Un-Wellness Tour 2002
Only one more month to go and we're finally on tour again! Today I confirmed the last date that hadn't been so far and now we're complete as it seems. Nothing In Common and us are looking forward to ten days of playing, travelling and having fun! Hopefully we'll meet you on one of our shows! - Up next on this website: "Vote for the best FTD song" poll. Stay tuned for more Rock'n'Roll! - kcr

03/27/2002 Down By Law in Aachen
I'm proud and excited to anounce that we are given the chance to play with our heroes Down By Law in the AZ Aachen on April 28th! Their singer Dave Smalley used to sing in other great bands such as All and Dag Nasty (who just recorded a new album) - bands that are definitely responsible for the invention of good music as such. Without these bands For The Day wouldn't sound the way we do. Fortunately our labelmates Sommerset from New Zealand are also playing and I'm looking forward to see if they kick live as much ass as on their great record "Fast Cars, Slow Guitars". If you're not going to be there, you must be a fool (or living far away). - kcr

03/12/2002 Last minute show!
Unfortunately Los Stupidos had to cancel their appearance at the AZ Aachen tonight due to illness. So FTD have been asked to support Runt from Montreal/CDN and Straight Away from Paris on this "Supercoolmelodicpunkrockevening". If you like to and haven't planned to do so anyways try to make it to the AZ tonight! - kcr

03/06/2002 T-shirts back in stock
Our T-shirts with the "contradictionary" skull design are back in stock (see output section). Unfortunately we have no size S shirts this time... - kcr

02/25/2002 Pictures back online
Punkrock is all about DSL (which I do not have), isn't it? However the pictures in the media section are finally back online with a bunch of new galleries. - kcr

02/23/2002 Tour in May with Nothing In Common
The mini-tour with Nothing In Common turned out so well that both bands will join together again for the "Unwellness Tour 2002" from May 17th to May 26th. We're pretty happy about that! We started planning the tour already but there's still a lot of work to do. So if you can help us, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Check the shows section for the current tour plan.
Bad news: the Scene Police Festival on March 23rd has been cancelled. - kcr

02/07/2002 Emo Oi Punks go for it!
Just in case your interested: Finally, the LP version of our album "Love Isn't Brains, Children..." just arrived yesterday, one day before our mini-tour with NOTHING IN COMMON (see shows section). So, it is available from now on for only 8,- Euro (CD is 9,- Euro). The T-Shirt is currently sold out, but we're about to get new ones. Some people didn't like the skull design - to be honest, they were all girls... So skulls are boyish?! However, we're planning to make a new design for our tour in May. So watch out for them! - kcr

01/27/2002 Westside Story
Wow, what a hell of a festival this was, the Westside Unity Festival, especially for For The Day. The crowd really helped making us a real record release party, even though the stupid vinyl wasn't there yet. But people showed much interest in our CD nevertheless and also our T-shirts. To be honest all the shirts sold, so we have to print new ones. Big thanks to all of you who supported us especially up front during our set!
But there's also sad news. As most of you may already have noticed Sheridan decided to split up. After Marc (their and our singer) had decided to leave the band a couple of months ago, now also Thomas (their and our guitar player) decided to quit. So unfortunately there was no point in maintaining the band for the remaining members Muya, K.Ass and Torsten. Keep your eyes open for their farewell show. We want to see all of you showing up there!
Sheridan wasn't only one of the best Hardcore bands Aachen ever had the chance to give home to, they also were For The Day's bigger brother and we definitely owe them a lot. FTD wouldn't be the way it is without the impact of Sheridan. Us, the non-Sheridan members of For The Day, want to say thank you, Sheriff Dan!
If you only care a bit about this Aachen Rock City constitutive outfit please show them in their guestbook. - kcr

01/22/2002 Everything new!
New shirts, new record, new homepage, new lifes - yippie!
Guess you noticed the new homepage design. We hope it works well and you like it. What you maybe did not notice is that we have our own domain now: WWW.FORTHEDAY.DE The .NET address will keep on working for some time. But please update your bookmarks and your links, thank you!
Our T-shirts have finally arrived. We start selling them at the Westside Unity Festival on saturday for only € 8,-. Check out the design in the Output section.
The most important thing should be our album "Love Isn't Brains, Children..." that is out now, at least on CD. The vinyl version is due to arrive before saturday, so I hope we'll be able to offer both formats at once. We're damn lucky with it and hope that it will get the attention we think it deserves. For details please check also the Output section.
Furthermore there are new Shows coming up that you better should attend. - kcr

01/02/2002 A happy new year...
The year already has a good start for the Forthedays: There's an interview with FTD being published on the swedish online zine lofidelity.net. Mike seems to be a cool guy and we're very happy with the interview. (Thanks, Mike!) Luckily he cut out the most stupid parts...
There's a last minute show on January 8 at the Alter Schlachthof, Eupen (B). The bands playing are Leiah (swe), For The Day and the great Eaves. If you have the chance to get their do so - we'll be happy and you maybe too. It's only 4,- For more detailed info write to Fabrice.
I wrote about in the newsletter before but I think it's worth mentioning again: We have uploaded three new MP3 files from our album that is going to be out on January 26th at the Westside Unity Festival. Due to a lack of webspace and download counters we moved the MP3 files to mp3.com. No registration is needed, 100% free and high-quality full-length versions. The songs are: 'Description', 'Girl Upstairs' and 'This Song'. Hope you like the songs and also the sound. Enjoy!

12/05/2001 Blah, blah, blah...
Lot of stuff happening at the FTD's. The most important thing is the upcoming album. We finally got pictures for the artwork (which is supposed to going to look like that thingy on the left) and also a title: "Love Isn't Brains, Children...". If you wonder what that means you might understand when you listen to the LP... As said before, the album is going to be out January 26, 2002 at the Westside Unity Festival.
This is also supposed to be the first time our T-shirts will be available. Have a look at the design on the merchandise page... We're going to play some more shows again, one is on December 21 in Mainz with our pals Atrox and some other bands whose names will be added soon... Playing so few shows these weeks makes me feel like being a junky on a turkey. If you can hook us up for shows please do so and get in touch!!! Furthermore there are some new gay positive pictures from the awesome Halloween Havoc. Check them out, I'm sure you'll dig them... - kcr

11/17/2001 New compilation CD out
Horror Business Records just released a CD compilation named "Support Your Local Scene" featuring 35 bands of different styles. One of them is us with a newly recorded version of This Song. Actually it's meant to be a promotional compilation that is given away by Horror Business to people who put up shows. As we've paid to be on it, we charge DM 5,- for it, which should be okay as well. Check it out in the releases section. - kcr

11/03/2001 Demo sold out
The last three shows (see history) were a hell lot of fun and I think we could make some new friends. One of the most exciting things is that our 7-song demo CD-R is sold out now. We've printed about 670 booklets and that's it now. We had high hopes when we recorded it in December 2000 and now, nearly a year later, they are far more than fullfilled. Thanks to everybody who put any effort in getting a copy, we appreciate that very much.
Luckily it's only two and a half months until our full-length album will be released on the Westside Unity Festival. Let's hope you'll like that one, too. Until then, go to Atrox, Costa's Cakehouse, Sheridan, Army Of Darkness, Above The Struggle and Cleansweep shows! - kcr

10/25/2001 Stick to your friends!
After about only 6 months of production the FTD-stickers are available! And, to be honest, the quality is rather mediocre. So we'll sell them for half the price - which means two for the price of one - or give them away with other stuff we offer. - kcr

10/04/2001 In the studio
During the next 10 days we'll be recording stuff for our record for the most part. Let's hope we do a good job! The studio is Bunt's Studio and we'll be recorded by Menno Bakker. Let's hope he'll do a good job too, ha ha! - kcr 09/23/2001 FTD - last minute band!
As Cleansweep had to cancel their appearance at this year's Horror Business Festival, we had the chance to play in their place. It was all arranged the night before the show, that's why you couldn't find any info on the show before. We hope for Cleansweep that everybody's well again and must admit that they missed out a hell of a show! The Lünen kids went crazy and cheered us even though they didn't even know our name before. What a great night! Some of the best parts were meeting the cool people of Horror Business Records, Versus and Sincerity. Incredible but Lexi Sincerity already put FTD pictures online. See the in the gallery.By the way, the demo is nearly sold out, which means about 650 copies... - kcr

09/09/2001 Hard drinking man...
Together with Daniel of Shitman & His Cold Warriors, our guitar cutie Roland formed the winning team of this year's Beerathlon, which took place yesterday. The game is to run around a lake in Eschweiler while each of the two-player teams have to carry a box of beer (20 bottles, 10 litres) that has to be drunk empty at the finish. Hooray for Roland! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day! For The Day!... - kcr

09/08/2001 Hard working men...
Now it's countdown for our studio session from October 4 to 15. We're pretty busy practising our asses off even though we definitely should be more. I don't know about the others but I really freak out on the thought of playing a dozen songs straight to tape (or harddisk?). Seems very hard to succeed. But that's always the same, in the end I'm always satisfied with the results although it never turns out perfect. Hey, let's excuse it with P.U.N.K.R.O.C.K., just like all our other faults. However I'm convinced that Menno at Bunt's studio will make some great recordings out of our little songs. Hope you'll like them... - kcr

06/13/2001 Flyer collection
Added the missing flyers to the history section. Unfortunately we have to play tomorrow's show at the Nightlife without Andreas because he's ill. Hope, he's well again pretty soon and we'll still be able to rock your girlfriends' asses... - kcr

06/12/2001 Homepage updates
Finally, finally, I've started to put the tour pictures into the gallery. There are more to come, but right now it was the most important to get it started. Furthermore I updated the merchandise section where now all button designs can be seen. There are vinyl stickers and probably also T-shirts going to be available in the future, you'll be informed here. I've added the lyrics to our new song 'Girl Upstairs', which happens to be one of the three songs we've recorded in the studio for various compilations. We're impatiently waiting for the finished mix which is due to be done during this week. So long we only have our demo. Talking about that, I've also added a whole lot of reviews. Come to our shows and sign the guestbook! - kcr

04/16/2001 Back from the tour
You don't wanna know what on earth can go wrong if you're going on tour! Somehow we finally went so cancelled shows and expensive vans do not hurt anymore. I guess I speak for everyone in the band saying that we had the time of our lifes! I can't wait for the next tour and hopefully we'll also rock your boring town (if we haven't yet). I hope you'll find a tour diary on this site in the near future, where you can read about all the drugs, sex and violence we encountered (more or less...). There are many thank-yous to say, first of all to Chris Rockstar (the "manager") and Atrox (the "other" band), who were totally great comrads on this road trip - and sure will be in the future. Second to all the promoters who hooked us up, the bands we played together with, especially Costa's Cake House and Nikad, and of course, all the kids who came to the shows, supported us and contributed their part to keep that thing of ours called Hardcore alive! More guestbook signing and don't forget the show with the mighty Turbo A.C.'s on the 30th of April!!! - kcr

01/30/2001 LP on Rockstar/Scene Police, tour in april
Rockstar Records and Scene Police Records (check out the beautiful website) are going to cooperate in bringing out the first For The Day LP. Hopefully we'll be doing the recordings in late summer to have the record ready for the next Westside Unity Festival at the latest. But first we'll record one song to be released on a Compilation on Scene Police Records in spring 2000.
We've already begun writing new songs for the LP, and even presented one called "Girl Upstairs" on this year's Westside Unity Festival. By the way thanks to all the bands and all the people who have been there and who made the festival a total blast again (if someone took cool FTD- or Sheridan-photos please mail them to me, thanx). And also big thanks to everyone who bought our Demo CD and maybe even likes it.
Last but not least I'm proud to anounce that FTD are heading towards their first Germany tour in april. Take a look at the shows-page for dates, there are still a lot of shows not confirmed yet, so this goes out to all show initiators in Germany: Please check if you might put up a show for us on one of the 'tba' dates. Thankx. - tl

12/11/2000 Everybody count down 6, 5, 4, 3...
Only six days left before the next For The Day show will take place in the AZ Aachen on December 17. And it won't be just an ordinary For The Day show, but it will be the first evening for you to be able to get our brandnew Demo CD . We really took some pains to record 7 of our favourite For The Day songs and we all are more than satisfied with the result. The CD offers nearly half an hour of rocking emotional hardcore music plus an exclusiv video track plus an extremely stylish cover artwork, so I'm sure you won't regret having payed 5,- DM (!) for your copy.
I'm currently working on the next big update of this webpage (by the way it has a new adress: www.fortheday.net), which will be uploaded next monday, so please check in here again next week to read all about the latest development of the band. But first I hope to see you all on Sunday Evening in Rockcity Aachen's AZ. - tl

9/12/2000 Teenage Kicks and next fortheday show
Since May 2000 everybody who's related to punkrock, hardcore or indie music has a place to go on wednesday nights. Take a look at Teenage Kicks for details and be there on wednesday when DJs Jochen and Alex present their (and our) favourite tunes. Besides you can meet the whole fortheday crew there.
Furthermore I'm happy to announce the next fortheday show which will be on Sept. 22.. It's supposed to be a real cool party, as Marc, Muya and Kai celebrate their birthdays on that occasion. So after the shows their will be a lot more party going on with DJs and cheap beer, and it all will be just 5,- DM for each of you. Make sure to not miss it. (see shows) - tl

7/12/2000 Complete Lyrics
The Lyrics section now includes lyrics to all existing fortheday songs. There's even a brandnew song called "mean" which is the first result of starting to write new songs together with Roland. We're all very lucky with our work and can't wait to present it to you live on stage. We're optimistic to write a couple more songs in the near future as I've got some cool ideas already in mind. So don't hesitate to book fortheday for your next show. It's not the same old stuff again - it's all new, it's all cool. - tl

6/11/2000 Recent Shows + New Photos
I added two new sets of photos taken on recent fortheday shows (thanks to jochen and dirk). Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from the "how far is summer" concert in Düren. It was the first show with Roland H. playing guitar, and it was quiet a lot of fun. Two days later we headed for that little Belgian town called Hoogstraaten to play a show together with Leatherface. It was quiet a big thing for us, especially for mark and karsten as they both really love that band.
So there we were, in that really cool club called Cahier de Broullion, sitting in that comfortable backstage room, eating tasty vegetarian cutlets while downstairs Leatherface were sound checking... . And it felt kind of like there was a soft, warm breeze of punkrock-history blowing when we finally entered the stage, plugged our guitars to Leatherface's amps and rocked the house. Surprisingly not more than 60 people made it to the show, but hey, we played with Leatherface in front of 60 people... what else could anyone desire? Once more big thanks to Stijn who made all this possible and besides is a very very nice guy.
Speaking of nice guys: You should take a look at the wonderful page of Soda Records. It's also the home of of the famous Pale. Photos of the show we played together with them in Aachen some weeks ago you'll find in our gallery.
You'll have to go there, too, if you want to know how the new Roland looks like. As soon as I'll find the time to take photos of him and all other bandmates I'll revise the members-section completely. - tl

5/31/2000 New MP3s
All problems with our mp3 section should now belong to the past. And what's even better (?): downloading times are reduced dramatically as I encoded the mp3s mono. Plus there is another song besides "waiting for the day" for you to listen to. Check it out! - tl

5/15/2000 New Roland + Show with Leatherface!
As Roland had moved to Cologne and therefor has not been able to rehearse with fortheday regularly for the last 6 month we knew that it would be just a matter of time for him to quit playing with us. So now he's finally left the band and is replaced with Roland H., who's known as guitarist of Aachen's punkrock outfit ANTROPHOBIE. So far he does a very good job and we're looking forward to write new songs together with him in the near future. But first we're going to practice the old ones as there are two cool shows coming our way: The first one is on 02.06.00 in Düren together with lightsome and a couple of other bands. And two days later there will be another highlight in fortheday's band history as we're given the chance (thanks to Stijn) to play a show with one of our favourite bands Leatherface. Yeah. See shows for details.
All in all I'm pretty enthusiastic about the road fortheday is going to take now, after there hasn't been too much motivation the last months. But soon we'll be better than ever... so stay tuned. - tl

4/26/2000 Photos!
I revised the old photo section, cleared out the old galleries, added two new series (Darmstadt and Aachen) - and out came the new fortheday gallery. There's also now a picture of the first and meanwhile legendary fortheday button. Besides I've uploaded our mp3 file to my university server, so if you encountert problems when trying to download it, you should try again. - tl

3/22/2000 Saturday Night at the atomic speedway
You don't know yet where you'll waste your time on the 1st of April? Don't worry, cause I know where you'll be... assuming you like For The Day... and I take that for granted. Anyway, the Thomas-Morus-Haus in Düren is the place where we'll gather. I advice you to be there ...and to be there in time cause unfortunately For The Day will play early around 6pm. Take a look at the shows page for details. - tl

3/8/2000 check this out!
Finally I found the time to redesign our webpage. It's more emo than ever, hope you like it. And it's not only the look that changed: there are some really cool new features for you to discover: for example the merchandise page (with rather meagre content until now) and the new mighty guestbook. Yes, it's true - for the day finally has it's own guestbook for all you lonely, shy emokids out there to leave a message as anonymous as possible.
Well now, enjoy the new 'for the day feeling'... and if you don't like anything please report it to me. thanx, thomas. - tl
